Welcome to Andre's Teaching SpaceThe purpose fo this wiki is to provide a collaborative teaching and learning environment for both myself and my students. Initially I am hoping to provide resources for the core/foundation units that are commonly found in the Certifcate II to IIl level qualifications based on the ICA05 Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Training Package. These units contain the basic fundamentals of ICT knowledge and skills for all qualifications at Certificate III in IT and above and required for entry into Certicate IV level ICT qualifcations. If you are studying at TAFE for an ICT qualification you most probably have noticed that your class group displays a broad range of skill levels and knowledge sets. Some students are familiar with advanced computer use whilst others may have limited experience in using computers and other related technology. Providing a flexible learning environment is particulary important in this type of situtation. Self paced/flexible and accesible teaching and learning materials allow for each student to access the areas of study that they require. Some may already have the skills and knowledge to display the competence required for certain units and are given the opportunity to gain recognition of these competencies in various ways (challenge testing,portfolios of previous work. etc ) whilst others may need to develop their competence through the completion practical tasks and studies.
